E-Challan in Nashik
E-Challan is a digitised version of the manual challan that was earlier issued to drivers who violated traffic rules. Instead of handing out paper tickets, they now get digital tickets through SMS or email, stating their violation, fine and other details. The system allows real-time monitoring of traffic rule violations through automated surveillance cameras, reducing the chances of mistakes and bribery. The offenders can now track the status of their e-Challan and even settle their penalties online through government-authorised channels.
The Nashik police department has also embraced this system in the city to combat the issues associated with the traditional challan system. There are CCTV cameras installed across the city that check whether you are wearing your helmet, following traffic signals, and speed limit, wearing your seatbelt, etc. If found in violation of these rules, an e-Challan is automatically issued in your name or vehicle.
The system has improved the regulation of increasing traffic rule violations in the city by encouraging better compliance among the citizens. Overall, it has simplified the traffic monitoring for the Nashik police and increased reliability.
