Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 worth buying?

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 can be an outstanding selection for riders who value fuel economy and desire a stylish motorcycle for occasional road trips. Although the bike handles well and has a dependable engine, you must find suppliers for original parts beforehand.

What documents are required to file a Suzuki bike insurance claim?

For Suzuki bike insurance claims, you must submit your insurance policy, RC book, driving licence, FIR copy (for theft or serious accidents), and either a repair estimate (for cashless claims) or original bills (for reimbursement).

How is the IDV calculated for different Suzuki bikes?

The IDV for Suzuki bikes is calculated by subtracting the depreciation value from the bike's ex-showroom price. For bikes with accessories, the depreciated cost of accessories is added. Depreciation depends on the bike's age, e.g., 5% for under 6 months, 15% for 6-12 months, and up to 50% after 4-5 years.

How much premium for popular Suzuki bike models like Gixxer and Gixxer SF?

As the Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF models fall within the 150cc+ to under 350cc category, the IRDAI guidelines specify that the 1-year third-party bike insurance cost for these vehicles will be ₹1,366. However, the premium for comprehensive insurance will depend on many factors, such as the age of your bike, engine capacity, modifications made, no-claim bonus, etc.

Is tyre burst covered by your bike insurance?

No, standard bike insurance plans do not pay for tyre replacements. However, you can get an add-on cover called ‘tyre protection’ to seek coverage for unplanned tyre repairs occurring from events, such as road hazards or accidents.
