Noida is one of Uttar Pradesh's busiest cities and is close to Delhi. The city's malls, residential areas, IT offices, and industrial areas witness heavy daily commuter traffic and high vehicle movement. Major roadways like the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway witness bumper-to-bumper traffic during peak hours. The growing number of two-wheelers and cars makes traffic management a daily need, which is provided by the RTO Noida.
The Noida RTO manages several tasks that keep transport moving smoothly and organised. They accept new registrations, renewals, and transfers of ownership during car sales. The Noida RTO online portal also accepts applications for learner's permits with permanent licenses.
These services are important in Noida to ensure road safety and reduce pollution. It conducts fitness tests on cars to ensure they meet the standards required to be on the road. Legally, the RTO also issues PUC certificates, helping keep emission levels in check. Its online portal also allows residents to perform most tasks online and avoid delays.
The RTO's main service is car registration. They also provide registration certificate renewals and ownership transfers.
You can get your learner's permits and permanent licenses at the RTO, and apply for driving tests and duplicates of your license.
Commercial vehicles can obtain interstate permits from RTOs. They also provide commercial car permits for specific routes.
RTOs are responsible for collecting road tax. You can pay your annual or one-time road tax at the RTO Noida online portal.
RTOS perform fitness checks before allowing cars to drive. Cars that fail this test must be repaired before applying for a retest.
A PUC certificate is mandatory to drive in India, which is issued by RTOs after checking the car's emission levels.
Noida RTO has registration and renewal fees based on the type of vehicle and its use. Imported vehicles fetch a higher registration fee of ₹2,500, but three-wheelers used for transport have a ₹600 fee. All other charged fees are as follows:
Note: Noida RTO registration charges and fees are subject to change. For the latest updates, please refer to the official Parivahan Portal.
Noida's road tax is charged under the Uttar Pradesh Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1997. While two-wheelers are charged between 7% and 10%, four-wheelers are charged 7%, 8% and 10%. The tax rate is based on the vehicle's value.
Note: Noida road tax rates stated above are subject to change. Please refer to the official Parivahan Sewa Portal for the latest rates.
On the Parivahan portal, select 'Online Services', 'Vehicle-Related Services' and 'Noida'.
Choose the nearest RTO office from the drop-down menu, and pick 'Proceed'.
Fill in essential details, like car registration number and click 'Pay Tax'.
After verification of the submitted details, complete a secure online payment.
Car insurance is mandatory in Noida and across India. It is a legal requirement to register cars and to get licenses. Having third-party insurance is compulsory to be able to drive on the road. RTOs across India conduct checks to ensure this rule is being followed by all and to keep protecting people on the road. If anyone is found without a license, fines are imposed and could lead to imprisonment.
In a busy city like Noida, accidents can happen at any time, especially during peak traffic hours. You could be driving to work and accidentally bump into the car in front of you, cracking their taillights and chipping the paint. Even though this is minor damage, it can lead to a large repair bill. With car insurance, you can get the damage costs of third-party property covered.
IndusInd General Insurance (formerly Reliance General Insurance) offers flexible car insurance with helpful add-ons, which will protect specific parts of your car and enhance the protection you get. For instance, the rim protection add-on will cover the repair costs of your car tyres, which can easily be damaged due to the poor road conditions in Noida. We also offer 11,000+* network garages where you can get cashless service and can self-record videos for claim submission on the IndusInd Insurance Self-i app.
At IndusInd General Insurance (formerly Reliance General Insurance), we make motor insurance simple and flexible. You can choose plans that match your needs and the distance you drive. We offer quick online renewals, the ability to raise claims with the IndusInd Insurance Self-i App, and multiple add-ons to enhance your policy's coverage.

What are the RTO charges in Noida to issue a duplicate RC?
To reissue a duplicate RC, RTOs charge a fee that is half of the price charged to issue a new RC. For example, the price of a new RC of bikes is ₹300 and half of it would be ₹150 for a duplicate RC.
My learner's permit is about to expire. Can I extend it?
No. A learner's permit is valid for six months or 180 days from the date of issue. It cannot be extended. You can reapply for a new permit at your nearest RTO before the current permit expires.
What do I do at RTO Noida when I sell my car?
When selling your car, you need to transfer ownership of it at your RTO. Submit filled-out forms 29 and 30 with documents and a transfer fee. Thereafter, a vehicle inspection will be conducted, after which a new RC will be issued to the new owner.
Do I need to carry my RC when I am driving?
Yes. You must carry your RC when driving as it is a legal requirement. RCs must be present with you at all times for routine traffic stops for inspections.
I need to cancel my registration application. Will I get a refund of my application fee?
