Mr. Arun Tiwari
Chairman and Independent Director
Mr. Arun Tiwari is a seasoned banker with over 40 years of experience in leadership, strategic planning, project finance, risk management, HR, IT, and credit operations. He served as the Chairman and Managing Director of Union Bank of India from December 2013 to June 2017 and was previously the Executive Director of Allahabad Bank. At Bank of Baroda, his parent organization, he spent 33 years in various operational roles, including as CEO of the bank’s operations in Singapore and Malaysia. Throughout his career, Mr. Tiwari has held positions as Chairman and Non-Executive Director on the boards of IndusInd Bank Limited, Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company Limited, and Union Asset Management Company. He has also served on the boards of New India Assurance Co. Ltd., General Insurance Corporation Ltd., ECGC Ltd., and Acuite Ratings and Research Limited. In addition, he has been involved in several national committees. Mr. Tiwari is currently serving on the boards of several limited companies, including Afrinex Stock Exchange in Mauritius, India Infradebt Ltd, and Hinduja Energy (India) Limited. He holds a postgraduate degree in Chemistry. During his career, he has done extensive assignment under the aegis of World Bank apart from being part of many programmes at Kellogg School of Management - Illinois, Arthur D’Little - Boston, ISB - Hyderabad, IIT - Mumbai, IIM - Kozhikode etc.
Dr. Thomas Mathew

Dr. Thomas Mathew holds a bachelor’s degree in arts from the University of Delhi and a bachelor’s degree in law from Campus Law Centre-II, Faculty of Law. He also holds a master’s degree in arts, a degree of master of philosophy, and a degree of doctor of philosophy from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He has experience of working with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Defence.
Mr. S.V. Zaregaonkar

With over 46 years of senior-level experience in the banking and financial sector, Mr. S. V. Zaregaonkar has developed a wide-ranging expertise across credit underwriting, finance, accounting, taxation, audit, legal, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance. He has worked with prestigious institutions such as Dena Bank, IndusInd Bank, and Hinduja Group Limited, where he successfully navigated complex operational, financial, and regulatory challenges. Currently, Mr. Zaregaonkar serves as the Group President - Corporate Governance & Development at Hinduja Group Limited, a position he has held since January 2023. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the company’s governance structure, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and managing external relationships with regulatory authorities. Prior to joining Hinduja Group, he had a long and impactful career at IndusInd Bank, where he served in various senior roles, including Chief Operating Officer (COO) from October 2021 to August 2022, and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from 1995 to 2021. During his tenure, he was instrumental in shaping the bank’s operational strategy, overseeing mergers and acquisitions, managing financial reporting, risk management, and driving capital raising initiatives, which helped the bank grow significantly in terms of both revenue and regulatory stature. Earlier in his career, he worked at Dena Bank from 1980 to 1995, where he held roles including Credit Analyst, Senior Branch Manager, and Chief Accounts Officer. He also began his professional journey as a Lecturer in Commerce at Bharati Vidyapeeth in Pune from 1978 to 1980. Mr. Zaregaonkar holds a strong academic foundation with several prestigious qualifications, including Chartered Accountant, LLB, M. Com and CAIIB.
Ms. Aslesha Gowariker

Ms. Aslesha Gowariker is a Senior Partner at Desai & Diwanji’s Mumbai office. She began her legal career at Desai & Diwanji and has been in practice for 30 years. Ms. Aslesha specialises in advising on strategic M&A transactions, PE and VC investments, entry and exit strategies, acquisition of stressed assets, regulatory compliances, business contracts and the like, across various industry sectors, including manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, transport, logistics, real estate and media & entertainment. She also advises on real estate transactions, employment law aspects, environmental law compliances, litigation strategy, corporate frauds and economic offences. Her clients include domestic companies and conglomerates, multinational corporations, foreign and domestic banks and financial institutions, global and domestic PE funds, VC funds and HNIs. Aslesha has been a board member of several listed and unlisted companies, serves as committee member in prominent trade bodies and speaks at various industry events. She has regularly contributed to advisory and regulatory committees of Central and State Governments.
Mr. Moses Newling Harding John

Mr. Moses John holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration. He is a seasoned banking professional with over 40 years of distinguished experience across Wholesale Banking, International Banking, Global Markets, Wealth & Asset Management, and Investment Banking. He began his career with State Bank of India in 1981, gaining deep expertise across both the pre- and post-liberalization phases of India’s financial sector. Since 1999, he has held senior leadership positions in leading private sector banks and NBFCs, with a focus on infrastructure financing and business transformation. Mr. John is known for building scalable, system-driven business models with an emphasis on long-term sustainability, team excellence, and stakeholder value. His international experience spans India, East Africa, Mauritius, and the Middle East, where he has advised and managed ultra-high-net-worth individuals and institutions across diverse asset classes. He brings with him a strong network of relationships with regulators, corporates, and financial institutions, reflecting decades of trust and credibility in the industry.
Mr. Roopam Asthana

Mr. Roopam Asthana brings with him an exceptional career spanning nearly 4 decades across banking, financial services and insurance—shaped through leadership roles at HSBC in India and the US, at SBI Cards in partnership with GE Capital, and as Founding CEO & Whole‑Time Director at Liberty General Insurance, where he built and expanded the company from the ground up. More recently, he has been the Managing Partner at Punyah Consulting LLP, advising across the financial services ecosystem. Mr. Asthana has been recognized with numerous industry awards, including the General Insurance CEO of the Year (2017, 2018). Mr. Asthana is a Physics graduate from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and holds a PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad. Currently, Mr. Asthana is the Executive Director & CEO of Reliance Capital Limited (An IIHL Company).

Mr. Rakesh Jain is a member of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. He has rich and varied work experience of over 20 years in leadership positions in corporate finance, risk management, underwriting, claims, broking and reinsurance functions etc. Prior to joining IndusInd General Insurance, he had worked in the capacity of Director - Corporate Centre & CFO at ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited. During his tenure with ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited, he was conferred an award titled 'The CFO - Financial Sector Award' by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
