Travel Insurance for Seychelles
Looking for a budget-friendly travel destination? Turn to Seychelles. Here, on Mahé, you can move between beaches and local markets. In Praslin, you can visit nature reserves and quiet coastal roads. When travelling to La Digue, be ready to explore on foot or by cycle. While not widely known for its cuisine, fresh grilled fish, coconut-based curries, rice dishes, and local fruit sold by the roadside can make you forget those continental dishes.
However, while travelling across the Seychelles, a sudden illness, a slip on a beach trail, a change in boat schedule, or delayed baggage can disrupt your plans. Medical facilities are limited on smaller islands, and even a simple hospital visit for fever or dehydration may involve transfers and higher personal expenses.
With IndusInd Seychelles travel insurance, you receive financial support for medical treatment and hospitalisation. We also cover trip delays and baggage loss, and offer support for personal liability, helping you manage unexpected situations smoothly. Most importantly, our 24/7 assistance lets you focus on making memories rather than worrying about uncertainties.
Individual Travel Plan
Family Travel Plan
When your family is holidaying together across the Seychelles, taking separate policies for every traveller can feel unnecessary. Opt for our family travel insurance plan and enjoy up to $250,000 in protection. In an emergency, the total cover is used by all insured members, based on expenses rather than defined proportions.

Types of Visas for Seychelles
Seychelles is a visa-free country, so anyone with a valid passport can visit for tourism, business, or to visit friends and family. However, you will need to get a Travel Authorisation before you visit. If you are visiting for other reasons, the purpose of your trip to Seychelles will determine which visa type you need to apply for. Here are the available options.
Electronic Travel Authorisation
For tourism, you must secure an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA/eVisa) before departure, replacing the earlier visa-free Visitor’s Permit system. Applications can be submitted online up to 30 days prior to travel. The eTA permits a maximum stay of 3 months for tourism, business, or family visits. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if arriving from an endemic region.
Work Permits
If you intend to live and work in Seychelles you will need a permit. For a work permit, you need to apply for a Gainful Occupation Permit (GOP). This permit requires sponsorship by a Seychellois employer and approval before arrival. To obtain this permit, you need to pay around SCR 1,000. If you are a self-employed individual, you must first obtain approval from the Seychelles Investment Bureau.
Residence Permits
A residence permit is granted to non-citizens who make special economic, social, or cultural contributions, or who have family or domestic ties in Seychelles. To obtain this permit, you must reside in Seychelles for at least 5 days per year and provide a bank guarantee of a minimum of SCR 20,000. Please note that a residence permit does not permit employment; you still need a separate GOP.

Tiny Capital: Victoria is one of the smallest capital cities in the world, with just two dozen streets and two traffic lights.
High Peak: The highest point in Seychelles is Morne Seychellois on Mahé, rising to 905 metres above sea level.

Essential Apps for Your Seychelles Trip
Translation
Download Google Translate or Microsoft Translator. They offer offline downloads for Hindi, English, and French, and for real-time voice and text translation. DeepL is an alternative that delivers near-human accuracy for written texts. For those who want dedicated devices, the Vasco Translator V4 is popular, but apps are more practical for smartphone users.
Accommodation and Hotel Booking
Download apps like MakeMyTrip or Goibibo if you are looking for smooth bookings in INR and want to enjoy exclusive card offers. You can also download the Booking.com app to access extensive listings across Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. Other apps like Agoda and Trip.com are also strong alternatives. You can also use Trivago for quick price comparisons.
Navigation
Get Google Maps. It offers real-time driving, walking, and public transport directions and is also integrated with ride-hailing services. However, since mobile data can be costly for Indian travellers abroad, Maps.me is highly recommended because it allows offline downloads of Seychelles’ maps, covering even remote islands and hiking trails. Additionally, the Seychelles Travel Guide app provides localised navigation tips.
Transport
When visiting Seychelles, especially from India, the best transport booking apps include SeyTours App (widely used for on-demand cabs across Mahé and Praslin), Creole Travel Services (for pre-booked transfers, ferries, and excursions), and Seychelles Booking (to arrange inter-island ferries between Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue). Many hotels also partner with charter flight and boat transfer apps for smaller islands like Denis or Silhouette.
Sightseeing and Events
The Visit Seychelles app is the most recommended tool, as it is backed by the Seychelles Tourism Board and offers curated itineraries, real-time weather updates, interactive maps, and even a currency converter. For broader event and excursion bookings, download GetYourGuide and Viator. Additional platforms like Klook can also help you get discounts.
Food Delivery
You can download Knock Knock Delivery and Foodchow in Seychelles. Both apps operate mainly in Victoria and Eden Island. Additionally, Manzaii, Wheelies, and Linkup are also expanding in Seychelles, offering a user-friendly interface and real-time tracking. If you are looking for grocery delivery, turn to ISPC Seychelles and STC Delivery.
Key Takeaways
In recent years, the Seychelles has emerged as a popular choice for Indian travellers looking beyond the Maldives for honeymoons and leisure breaks. It stands out for its blue waters, peaceful islands, rich Creole culture, and easy visa-free access. From smooth ferry trips between Mahé and Praslin to slow nights by the shore, it offers a calm and lasting island break.
Yet, even a short stay in the Seychelles can turn stressful if your baggage arrives late or your return flight is delayed. Not only that, in a remote island setting, small disruptions can feel much bigger. This is why travel protection matters.
That is where IndusInd Seychelles Travel Insurance comes in. Designed for modern travellers, it supports quick policy downloads and easy access on your phone through the IndusInd Insurance app, so support stays close at hand.
Starting at just ₹306*, the plan includes benefits such as cashless medical care up to $500,000, cover for trip delays and flight cancellations, support for a lost passport, and round-the-clock assistance.
Whether you are travelling solo, with friends, or planning a family island holiday, this cover helps you enjoy the Seychelles by focusing on moments, not travel concerns.
